A Visit, Views of the Drought, Battle of Eutaw Springs
On Sunday, we met Bruce's cousin, Jeff Bluhm and his wife, Betsy in Santee. They are on the way to "snowbirding" in Florida. Afterward, we went to take pictures near the I-95 bridge in Santee and on the other side of Lake Marion by Ft. Watson of the effects of the drought. The lake is very low, has exposed the old river bed, graves, islands, and trees. We can't believe the lake level! Then we went to see where the Battle of Eutaw Springs was near Eutawville. It occured in October of 1781 and was considered one of the fiercest and bloodiest battles of the Revolutionary War.

Pretty cool pics! That's so crazy about the drought though. Geez...that really is a lack of water!!
I remember Dad's cousin from Grandpa's funeral. That guy is freakin' tall!
