Halloween was a busy day. Went to school, gave tests, set up our crayfish that came (ugh!), the kids cleaned out desks, passed out everything to go home, and had a nice Halloween party, complete with the video we've watched for years at our house. Then I drove home, got Bruce, loaded up the car and we left Sumter to go and get Travis and Ozzy in Charleston. It seems everywhere we went, there was a wreck and a back up of traffic. Especially when we got to Ashley River Road. A mile back up on 526 and then a wreck/fire on Ashley River Road itself. It took us until 5:00 just to get to Travis. We loaded up his car and put Ozzy in the back. Off to Beaufort. We were hoping to get there by 6:30, but there was another wreck!! Right down from Nathan and Ashley's. Finally got there at 7:00. Ashley had a really nice spread of foods and we stayed at the house while they took Hannah and the other kids at the party on a hayride. It was so nice to just relax! There was a bonfire outside later, more goodies, and we stayed up until 2:00 playing "Buzz" on the Playstation and catching snippets of the live broadcast of "Ghosthunters" from Fort Delaware! On Saturday we tried to go to the new I-HOP in Beaufort, but it was way too crowded!! So we ended up at Golden Corral. Left Beaufort at 11:00 and went back to Charleston. Bruce and Travis went shooting at the range, and I went to the Commissary at the Base. Met up at 2:00, said good-bye to Travis, drove home to Sumter, changed clothes, grabbed our tailgating food, picked up my friends, Cindy and Karen, and made it to tailgate at 5:30. Then we heard the rooster for the hour warning, packed up and began walking to the stadium. The game with Tennessee was AWESOME! Why couldn't they play like this all year long???? We are now 6-3. A win against both Arkansas and ESPECIALLY Clemson will be great!! Will be posting pics of Halloween and the game. Today Bruce and I went to church, then to the funeral home for Lauren Byrd's mom. Too sad. We had another horrible tragedy over the weekend when a 12 year old and his father and son were shot while trick-or-treating. The 12 year old died. He had gone to our school a couple of years ago, although I didn't know him. Such a needless event.Sunday, November 02, 2008
